Kayla: Playful, Soft Tabby

December 14, 2009

This is Kayla. Kayla was recently brought to Kitty City along with her brother, Mugatu. Both Kayla and Mugatu are super friendly 5.5 year old kitties. Although they are past the kitten stage, they love to play and are very outgoing and interactive. Kayla is the more playful of the two and loves to be petted. Kayla's fur is soft like a chinchilla. She's a truly gorgeous kitty with a lot of love to give. Just look at those big eyes!

Mugatu: Class Clown at Kitty City

December 14, 2009

Mugatu is 5.5 year old black and white domestic short-hair. Mugatu is affectionate, energetic, and a bit of a clown. He really enjoys playing with catnip toys and rolling on a cat perch. Mugatu loves to be petted on his head and neck. He is a bit vocal, but not loud. He was recently brought to Kitty City along with his sister, Kayla. He also helped catch a real mouse.

Scooter: Quite the personality!

December 14, 2009

Scooter is a very special kitty who needs a very special home. This sweet guy was dumped at the doorstep of a vet's office. The vet called us and asked if we could help just when Scooter was about to run out of time. We brought him to NoVA and he has had a bit of a rough time, but is really such a champ! Scooter (aka Scooch, Scooty, Scoot-man) has quite the personality and really thinks very highly of himself! If he were a person, he'd be a millionaire with three vacation homes, 4-5 expensive cars and a cigar in his mouth at all moments in time! Let's just say that Scooter knows how he likes things to be!

Isis: Help Needed to Relax!

December 14, 2009

Isis is a lovely, sleek black kitty. She was rescued from a rural shelter in North Carolina when she was just a 8 week old kitten. She was returned by the adopter because she no longer had the time or ability to care for them. Isis came back to us very underweight and over stressed...so she needs a home that will help her relax and gain a few pounds.

1,394 Animals Rescued So Far This Year

December 10, 2009

HT strives to rescue as many homeless animals each year as possible. But beyond quanitity, our biggest focus is on quality. HT believes strongly in providing the best care for each and every animal in our system. So, while quantity is nice....we take the most pride in the quality of care and quality of adoptive homes we provide to our rescued friends!

About Kitty City

December 08, 2009
Posted in Kitty City

Kitty City is a great place for homeless kitties to hang out until their foster or forever homes come along! Located at the HT office in Arlington, Kitty City helps more than 100 kitties annually get off the streets and enjoy love and a warm bed!

Kitty City offers shy cats, cats from the streets and cats with litter box issues a place to "hang out" while we find the best home for them.  They dwell in floor-to-ceiling rooms filled with cat trees, hammocks, beds and plenty of toys to keep them happy.

Kitty City kitties enjoy daily visits by volunteers, good wet/dry food, lots of toys, running time and a lot of down time if they need it OR play time if they need it.

Kali: Our Doggy Dream Come True

December 03, 2009

Kali is such a wonderful dog! Laurel, Caitlin and I adore and dote on her. She's the one who always greets me with enthusiasm when I come home, bringing me one of her stinky, shredded toys to tug on.

We love her intelligence, agility, personable demeanor and her willingness to learn. Housetraining problems are a dim memory, and we have found a happy chewing solution--lots of chewy things of various textures--so virtually nothing of value has been "eaten," though she did snitch one of the parts from the vacuum when I was repairing it. Funny, she has started to bring such things to "mom" right away, seeming to be asking if it's OK to chew. And, oh, when give her a plastic water bottle to chomp or new cheapo stuffed animal to dismember, she's delighted.
