Jasper Needs His Hip Fixed!
Just look at Jasper's sweet face! This photo was taken while Jasper was still in a rural shelter in WV. With only a few days left to live, Homeward Trails scooped Jasper out and brought him to a foster home in the DC area. Jasper's foster mom just adores him and noticed his limp as soon as he arrived. It turns out that Jasper has some very old leg injuries, probably sustained from being struck by a car! This poor boy has been in pain for quite some time!
The vet says that during his accident, Jasper's hip was dislocated and the knee on his other leg was fractured. The knee has healed okay, but Jasper needs surgery to set his hip back in place so we can relieve his pain! Jasper will never be a running partner, but he will live a long, healthy and comfortable life - can you help us to get Jasper the surgery he needs?
Cheyanne Lost Her Toes!
Cheyanne has had it pretty rough! You'll have to read the description on her petfinder page for her full story - but sufice to say that this sweet, gentle giant has gone through quite an ordeal! She is now living very happily with a foster family in the DC area and loves everyone. Cheyanna sustained a leg injury quite some time ago and has had to have her toes amputated and an infection treated. She may still need to have her whole leg amputated! Please make a donation today to help Homeward Trails provide the medical care that Cheyanne needs! Use the Sponsor Donation section of this page: http://homewardtrails.org/help-out/donate-money
Help Save Cindy
Sweet baby Cindy needs your help to survive! Cindy has parvovirus, a dangerous and sometimes deadly illness in puppies - but you can help! She needs medical attention that is quite expensive, so please donate, if only a few dollars, to help fund her medical care. Cindy even has a prospective home - and we so want her to make it there. Just click on "chip in," below to make a tax deductible donation today.
Cindy is currently at the vet's office, undergoing IV antibiotic and fluid treatments. She is feeling somewhat better this morning, but needs to continue these treatments to survive. Cindy came to Homeward Trails from Ritchie County Humane Society, the shelter that burned to the ground just a couple short months ago. One day, she just showed up in someone's yard. She got along great with their kids and their other dogs, but since they already had a number of dogs they really couldn't keep her. That's how Cindy found herself in the Ritchie County shelter. We were able to scoop her out and bring her to a foster home here in the DC area. She is a sweet pup who loves to play and cuddle and is good with everyone! She likes cats, all dogs and puppies big and little, and all people, from 3 to 93!
Cindy is only about 3 months old, but she's already gotten lost, wandered into a stranger's yard, been taken to a shelter in WV, and travelled to a new foster hom in the DC area - that's a lot for one little puppy! We so want to help Cindy know what it's like to have a permanent, loving home. We will keep posting on this blog with updates about Cindy's progress. Help us to make her better!
