HT Places 2nd in Give to the Max Day! Wins $16,000
On Novemer 9th, HT participated in Give to the Max Day - a 24 hour competition where nonprofits in the DC area worked to secure the most number of donors and the most donations. With hundreds of nonprofits competing, many much larger and older than HT, we finished 2nd in the two major categories securing a total prize of $16,000! We cannot be more thrilled!
In addition to the $16,000 in prize money, HT supporters came out with gusto and donated a whopping $18,000+ bringing our total day's earnings to more than $34,000 - all for our homeless animals.
We give a huge thank you to all of our many wonderful, loyal and generous supporters who helped make this day so successful. We could not do what we do without you. Many, many more animals will be rescued and given the chance at life they deserve thanks to you!

We thank Lynn and Urban Pace and wish them many more years of success. We are lucky to have you as part of the HT family! Woof! Meow!
Annabell & Cassidy
This sister duo was living outdoors in a neglectful home, given little socialization, allowed to get heartworm from no heartworm preventative and then confiscated and taken to the shelter. Homeward Trails took them in and put them into doggy daycare where they learned to play and love other dogs....and then they moved into the best foster home. Once there they started to actually relax, play, give kisses and learn to trust humans.
They have now been treated for heartworm, housebroken and ready for adoption. They can be placed separately or together...but if they go individually then they must have a home with another dog. They will require a special home who can be patient with them.
Please give one or both of these girls a loving home.....they have waited long enough!
