Chester Update
Chester is still having problems with his jaw and his leg but he is eating well now (asks for his wet food constantly!) and loves to sit by the window and purr in the sunshine.
Chester: Banged up but now safe!
Chester the kitty has such a sad story. He was found in King George, VA by a resident who saw him dragging himself into her back yard on a cold wet day. She called animal control who picked him up and took him to the shelter. He was sick, underweight by almost 8 lbs, and once x-rayed found to have a broken leg, a broken jaw, many missing teeth AND buckshot in his side. It is most likely this kitty was badly abused.
Set to be euthanized, the kind shelter volunteer worked hard to get him out. Homeward Trails stepped up. Poor Chester had been in pain for months. After many tests and vet visits, it is still unclear how Chester got so beat up. But he is in a warm foster home now!
