Squidlet and Squidley are just as friendly as their mother. Squidley is especially comfortable being picked up, held, cuddled and petted while Squidlet is a bit more independent. At three months old, this brother sister pair is curious about everything and loves to explore and investigate their surroundings. They love playing with toys and once they are tuckered out they will curl up with you and a soft blanket for a nap. They are each delightful little kitten nuggets that can be adopted together or into a home with another young cat.

Robbie originally came from an overcrowded rural SC high-kill shelter. He was adopted, but it was not a good match. So, this handsome guy is looking for a new person or family to give him an indoor home full of love, fun, and good times.

He is a sweet, happy, good-natured boy who is a pleasure to be around. While he prefers women over men, he does warm up to men given time. He is very quiet and rarely barks. Robbie is submissive and very sensitive to tone of voice and body language. He loves other dogs.

This guy is an energetic dog who needs a healthy outlet for his energy. His favorite activities include running, playing, and chasing his favorite toy. He loves the outdoors. Robbie likes walks and has good leash manners. He does like to chew, so he needs chew toys/bones so he will not chew on inappropriate items. His ideal home would be with someone who can give him vigorous exercise daily.

Robbie uses a doggy door for his potty breaks. He likes to sleep in the bedroom with his people. Robbie can be crated when left alone, but does not like to be confined for long periods. He has a sensitive tummy, but he does well on foods for sensitive digestive systems.

Can you please give this wonderful boy the home he needs? He will repay your love and kindness by giving you his heart forever. Please apply to adopt Robbie today.

The adoption fee for this dog is $275, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee INCLUDES spay/neuter. In 2012, Tyson was found by a good Samaritan who pulled him out of a dumpster in the city. He was taken to a local shelter and was adopted. Tyson stayed in his first home for two years where he lived happily with kids and a cat . For an unknown reason, the family recently dumped him at another local high-kill shelter.

Tyson is affectionate and cuddly with people. He does well with other dogs and loves playtime. His ideal home would include a doggy buddy who will play with him. Tyson will make a great partner for walks or lounging in front of the TV.

This energetic guy will play like a champ in your yard or at the dog park. Since Tyson thinks that he often has something important to say, he would do best a single family home. Tyson needs a home where he can get regular potty breaks (i.e., with someone who works from home, dog walker or doggy daycare). He is still young enough to learn whatever someone would like to teach him.

He is a sweet wonderful little guy wants a forever home with someone special. Are you a match for Tyson? He will fill your life with happy tail wags, spirited games of fetch, and love. Please apply to adopt Tyson today.

This adorable little girl was adopted from a shelter in Texas, but the ‘owner’ turned her in because they were not home enough. So this sweet baby found herself once again in danger in a rural high-kill shelter. She has no idea why her family deserted her, but Mia has managed to keep up her happy ways, despite her scary surroundings! She is a little shy at first, but as she gets comfortable, she becomes very playful and quite the little Texas belle. She has now arrived in the DC Metro area and is waiting for you to give her what, this time, will truly be her forever, happy home.

The adoption fee for Mia is $350. This fee INCLUDES spay. ***Note that puppy adoption fees generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. They include surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs....all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! Our adult animal fees range and are based on: fees we pay to shelters; vetting costs; transport costs and boarding costs. Some animals cost more than others to rescue so that is why our fees range from $275-$350.

This is sweet little Missy Lou! She was found in an alley in very very poor condition. Missy Lou was emaciated, could barely stand, was matted, and covered in sores. Luckily, she was taken away from that awful place. She was placed in a foster home where she was slowly nursed back to health. That was months ago. Now, after lots of healthy food and TLC, her hair is growing back and she likes to play.

Missy Lou is a real sweetheart who loves to be with her people. Her favorite activities are snuggling in bed with you, eating her meals, and playing with her toys. Since she missed out on having a family for so long, she wants to make up for lost time. Her ideal home would be with someone who is home a lot. Missy Lou needs to be on a regular schedule for potty breaks. When she is left alone, Missy Lou is happy to sleep in her crate.

Since she is a little dog, Missy Lou has many good years left to enjoy with someone special. Can you give her a forever home? She would like spend the rest of her life in loving arms. Please apply to adopt Missy Lou today.

    MEET CODY

Hi, I'm CODY and I'm about 3-4 years old. I'm a little guy, only about 20 pounds but I have a BIG personality. I think that I'm really a great dane. I love to play with the big boys and to do wrestlemania and play with balls. I live with about 7-8 other dogs including my best friend, Cruise who is about 3 times my size. We love to wrestle! I'm the littlest guy in the house but I can keep up with the other guys even though they are bigger and younger than me. I'm fast and I love to chase balls and run around and chase other dogs and be chased. Life is sooooo fun in my world.

My foster mom thinks that I'm part dachshund and part corgi with gorgeous red furry coat. I'm adorable and I'm quite the lover boy. After a hard day of playing and running around, there is nothing better than snuggling with my foster mom.

Because I'm a bit of a playful, wildman, I will do best in a home with adults only or older kids. Also, I would LOVE to go to a home with another dog.

I came to Homeward Trails with my brother, Lucky. He has already been adopted and found his forever home. I'm still waiting for my forever home. My foster mom is SHOCKED that no one has scooped me up yet. If you would like to meet me, please contact my foster mom at [email protected] Thanks. Cody

Ms Jazzy (also known as Jasmine) lost her home when her mom became homeless. She spent the next five months living in a shelter. As a result, she has been fully vetted, has a clean bill of health, and is ready for a forever home.

She is a little diva who believes that her senior status deserves respect. She is choosy about which people and dogs who she likes. Her new person or family must be slowly but firmly gain her trust. They should not allow her to be the boss because she will become headstrong. Because she can be fearful of children, she might bite them out of fear. However, Ms Jazzy would be a wonderful addition to a adult-only home. She would especially be great for a senior who is looking for a buddy for walks and cuddles.

Ms. Jazzy likes to snuggle, get petted, and sleep right next to her person. Her favorite things are stuffed toys, warm blankets, and sitting in laps. She knows her name and comes when called. The basic commands that she knows are Sit, In, and Out. Ms. Jazzy is very responsive to any approval or disapproval of her actions. She loves her crate and will happily spend time in there.

Can you give her a place where she can spend her golden years? She will repay you with early morning kisses, sunset walks, nighttime cuddles, and all day lovin'. Please apply to adopt Ms. Jazzy today.

Poor Sherman. He was found by animal control in rural South Carolina during a storm. Was he frightened and escaped his home? Why didn't his family look for him? He is a young boy 10-12 months old who all of a sudden found himself lost and alone. Sherman has asked me to explain his pictures. The picture with the hair is the matted Sherman. The picture with the sad Sherman is the shaved Sherman. Sherman was a little cold in the ai-rconditioning without his hair so he now has a T-shirt to keep him warm.

Sherman is a really sweet and loving boy who loves to cuddle. He likes other dogs and just a sweetheart. Can someone give this wonderful boy love and reassurance that he is cute with his new haircut? Do you relate to getting a haircut and missing your longer hair? Please consider giving Sherman a place in our family!
