Stripes came from a shelter with an old injury to his leg. He wasn't putting any weight on it, but he could hop up and down the shelves just fine. The X-rays showed he has significant damage in his elbow joint from an infected wound. The bones can no longer support his weight and the only option is amputation. We need to raise over $1,800 for the surgery so he can be free of pain and resume a happy life. Please consider chipping in for his medical costs by contributing through pay pal.

He has already learned how to get around on three legs, so we expect a relatively easy recuperation before he can be adopted. Stripes is a young and very sweet cat. He will be the star of someone's family.

Scooter is in a foster home with a volunteer's parents!! Scooter has inherited the volunteer's bedroom and is the only animal in the house.  Finally, no competition for affection!! He loves to sit by the windows and watch the birds and squirrels. He also loves to go on their screen porch, but he is still a little skittish when out there.

He likes both of their laps and waits for Foster Dad outside the bathroom door. The funny thing Foster Mom told me was that the other day she was holding Scooter in her arms like a baby...back down/belly up. And he just lay there.  He didn't complain at all!

Good news!! Mugatu, Kayla, and Isis have been adopted.  Check back soon for updates on Chow.   We have our fingers crossed for him.

Chow is a sweet older guy that loves to have his head scratched and the occasional treat. He also loves to explore, look out the window, and nudge you for more attention.  His wagging tail tells you he has an attitude, but he minds his Ps and Qs.  Chow needs to gain weight and could use a home where he gets more than 2 meals a day.  He's 13 years old but is in excellent health.

Luke and Leia were sombody's pets, then left outside to fend for themselves. They managed to hide in a garage during the snow storms but now they are looking for someone to give them a real home. We think they are brother and sister and since they are bonded, they must be adopted together. Luke and Leia are friendly, playful and affectionate.  They were just neutered and are recuperating at Kitty City.  Since they were abandoned, we are trying to give them an extra dose of love.  Volunteers are encouraged to spend lots of time with them.

This is Kayla. Kayla was recently brought to Kitty City along with her brother, Mugatu. Both Kayla and Mugatu are super friendly 5.5 year old kitties. Although they are past the kitten stage, they love to play and are very outgoing and interactive. Kayla is the more playful of the two and loves to be petted. Kayla's fur is soft like a chinchilla. She's a truly gorgeous kitty with a lot of love to give. Just look at those big eyes!

Mugatu is 5.5 year old black and white domestic short-hair. Mugatu is affectionate, energetic, and a bit of a clown. He really enjoys playing with catnip toys and rolling on a cat perch. Mugatu loves to be petted on his head and neck. He is a bit vocal, but not loud. He was recently brought to Kitty City along with his sister, Kayla. He also helped catch a real mouse.

Scooter is a very special kitty who needs a very special home. This sweet guy was dumped at the doorstep of a vet's office. The vet called us and asked if we could help just when Scooter was about to run out of time. We brought him to NoVA and he has had a bit of a rough time, but is really such a champ! Scooter (aka Scooch, Scooty, Scoot-man) has quite the personality and really thinks very highly of himself! If he were a person, he'd be a millionaire with three vacation homes, 4-5 expensive cars and a cigar in his mouth at all moments in time! Let's just say that Scooter knows how he likes things to be!

Isis is a lovely, sleek black kitty. She was rescued from a rural shelter in North Carolina when she was just a 8 week old kitten. She was returned by the adopter because she no longer had the time or ability to care for them. Isis came back to us very underweight and over stressed...so she needs a home that will help her relax and gain a few pounds.
