Zachary Sasim Born in Omsk, Former Soviet Union into a multi-ethnical family of artists, Zachary Sasim (formerly known by Zakhar) has considered himself a painter most of his life. While working professionally for the last 12 years in Bulgaria, he gradually crafted a unique impressionistic style that is marked by wild and passionate play of colors and is created by the mixture of brush strokes and palette knife technique.

Sukia Sukia is both an expressionist artist and a teacher of the creative process. Fueled by the spontaneous expression of feelings her art work pulls the viewer into the core of each piece. The paintings she creates are bright and alive, full of motion and energy. Her paintings often reveal hidden gems which are initially elusive from the viewer.

Francine D'Antuono Francine D’Antuono is a native of the Washington, DC area and an award winning artist. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a BA in fine art and applied design. She specializes in equine, animals, and nature subjects. Francine is also a proud mom of Garcia, a wonderful Chow Chow who came to her through Homeward Trails!

Melissa Lew Melissa Lew [b. 1982 - Bedford, Virginia] is an award winning DC Metro area artist and designer whose work is strongly influenced by her Chinese heritage, especially the culture’s deep respect and esteem for nature. She uses various metals, including precious metal clays, to create unique sculptural jewelry to wear and/or display.

Jennifer S. Brewer Jennifer S. Brewer has a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art and English Literature from the University of Maryland College Park. She now paints full-time and is endeavoring to support herself fully with her art.

Julie Hart After becoming a foster mom to a homeless dog, I started painting my Homeless Pet Series. I have always been an animal lover, so incorporating adoptable dogs and cats into my paintings seemed natural. Animals play such an important role in the lives of so many people that it seems fitting to paint them.

Megan Gleason Riley Megan Gleason Riley is an artist and art educator. Her paintings show glimpses of everyday life that are brightened by whimsical color, light and emphasize simple shapes. She often finds inspiration from her young students – who use bold colors and are uninhibited by realism. Her cheery designs appealed to a team of judges who selected one of her works -- a painting titled "Lemonade and Gerber Daisies" -- to feature in "Best of Virginia Artists and Artisans 2005."

Andrea Gagne Andrea Gagne has had a passion for photography since she was a child. She thrives in capturing everyday "moments" and sharing it with the viewer. She is a native of the DC area and is thrilled to combine her enthusiasm for photography and animals and be a part of the Pawcasso Event. She currently is a mom to a rescue Pit Bull and a Bull Mastiff.
