Please Help Fix Micah's Shoulder!

October 15, 2010

Please help poor Micah! After being abandoned in an Arlington parking lot, this sweet, amazing boy was rescued by a good samaritan. Safe in a foster home, Micah thought his luck had finally turned.  And then one day, he started limping after playing. We took him to the vet and he was diagnosed with a congenital bone defect!

Micah will need to under go reconstruction of his shoulder cartilage to be able to walk and run pain free. Micah loves to play at the dog park and with his doggie foster sister, so this is very difficult for such a sociable and fun loving boy. He is currently on anti-inflammatory and pain medication, but he cannot use his leg. Please help us raise money for this expensive surgery so Micah can run pain free at the dog park!

Help Fix Lil Bit's leg

September 16, 2010

Poor Lil Bit was found as a stray and brought to a rural VA shelter.  At first, she seemed just fine - a little thin but a happy, friendly dog.  But after she had been in a small dog play group, the shelter noticed her reluctance to put weight on her rear leg.  A trip to the vet for an x-ray revealed that her leg had been broken and then ignored.  The result is that the bone healed badly.

Though Lil Bit has a great attitude and never complains, we are sure that she must be in pain.  While she still loves to play and the leg doesn't seem to slower her down one bit, without corrective surgery, the leg will deteriorate, become increasingly useless and cause her more pain.  Please help us help Lil Bit gain pain-free use of her hind leg so that she can run and play pain-free!

Please consider making a tax deductible contrribution to fund Lil Bit's expensive surgery!

Bring Jake to DC!

June 07, 2010

Meet Jake! Jake is currently stuck in West Virginia, patiently waiting to come to the DC area where he can start his new life!

Jake was rescued by a West Virginia organization just before the county dog warden's appointment to have him euthanized. There were 16 dogs and unfortunately they could only rescue 13 of them. Jake was lucky number 13! Help keep Jake's lucky streak alive and consider donating so we can bring him here to a foster home.
