Help Us Give These Very Special Pets a 2nd Chance At Life
The animals featured here are some of the hundreds who have treatable but costly illnesses and injuries that Homeward Trails rescues every year. We have limited resources and must make life and death decisions weekly. Too often, these animals are left behind in shelters simply due to cost. We need extra help to take in animals whose care will cost more and for animals who may be with us longer as they recover.
Your sponsorship of an animal will save a life in real time. Every donation helps save a life.
Please, consider a tax-deductible donation today to help these animals. They deserve a 2nd chance at life. And together, we can give them that.
VAL
Needs TLC!
Val was in rough shape when she recently arrived from a rural shelter. Her skin is inflamed, she’s missing fur and she has a large mass on her shoulder. On top of all of that, she needs a dental. We can’t imagine how uncomfortable Val must be so your support would mean so much.
CHICKEN LITTLE
He’s just skin and bones!
Chicken Little was trapped during our most recent Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return trip to southwestern Virginia. He was living under a shed, the only surviving kitten from his litter. He’s around 10 weeks only and should be close to 3 pounds, but instead he’s less than a pound and a half and skin and bones.
His caregiver asked us to take him so he could get the care he needs. He hasn’t been eating and is having diarrhea. Despite the supportive care we can provide, he’s not gaining any weight. He will need an IV to make sure stays hydrated and receives nutrients to keep his body going.
Chicken Little has a long road ahead of him – we’re hoping with veterinary care and some TLC he’ll start to bounce back. But it’s going to be expensive and we need your help to make sure we’re set up to cover these costs. Any help would be greatly appreciated as Chicken Little fights for his life.
MASH
His mouth is a mess!
Poor Mash’s mouth is a mess. This sweet guy was living on the street before being taken to a rural shelter. We don’t know how long he’d been out there, struggling to survive. Life definitely took a toll on Mash’s health. He’s only 3 years old and needs a dental soon before things get worse. Left untreated, dental disease can cause a host of other health problems. Let’s get Mash the care he needs right away!
TOM
He’s got too many problems!
Tom was surrendered to a crowded rural shelter when his owner couldn’t keep him. He’s battled with major congestion ever since. Since medication hasn’t worked, Tom needs to be checked for a nasopharyngeal polyps. These are non-cancerous, inflammatory growths that require surgical removal. On top of that, Tom also has a hernia that needs to be repaired while he is under for surgery. This guy can’t catch a break, but let’s help him finally get some relief.
ITSY
She needs treatment!
Itsy had a rough start to the beginning of her life, living in an overcrowded house. She didn’t get preventatives that would have protected her and kept her healthy. So now Itsy has heartworm disease – something that can be life-threatening if left untreated. But treatment is expensive, and the cost has recently gone up. Please help us give Itsy her life back and sponsor her treatment.
TWIN & TT
Help them smile!
Twin and Two Tone are brothers and unfortunately dental disease runs in the family. These two both have badly inflamed gums and terrible breath. It’s only a matter of time before they stop being able to eat if left treated. Please help us get these boys the dental care they very much need.
