Today,  December 1, Homeward Trails will be participating in our biggest fundraiser of the year, GivingTuesday! This one-day online day of giving will be the most important day of our year. With our revenues down this year by a whopping $200,000 due to COVID canceling our Caps Canine Calendar, our puppy party program, our kids camp, and our fall Chili Bingo we are anxious to finish 2020 in the best shape possible and start 2021 not having to leave any animal behind because of funding. But this is a tall order.

Last year on GivingTuesday, we raised $52,493.44. That amount equals our ability to help approximately 420 animals (that includes basic vaccines and tests and spay/neuter for half of them). Imagine what it will mean if we have to leave 420 animals behind. Our hearts can’t take it.

We cannot do what we do without you. Animals give us so much. And they have given so many of us that hope and love we’ve needed this year to keep going. Join us in pledging to make 2021 equally lifesaving. With your support we know we can do it!

We have wanted a second transport vehicle for AGES. We use our van so often and we know that a second vehicle will make transports more efficient. Well, we found the PERFECT bus! It is already set up for animal transport, complete with built-in crates, animal graphics, and human workspace! We are working to raise $17,000 to cover the cost of the bus and the rebranding. PLEASE HELP! Donations can be made HERE What a great way to help the future animals of HT! Click here for a tour.

We are thrilled to announce our “Express Trail Home” events featuring free and reduced adoption fees on select cats and dogs the last Saturday of every month.

Meow Palace is our temporary housing facility for cats located next door to our Adoption Center in Fairfax Station, VA. Volunteers are needed to take care of the cats, feed them, scoop the litter, and give them tons of love and attention. Volunteering is sooooo rewarding – you get to help out homeless kitties and get your kitty fix!
We have morning and evening shifts available seven days a week and volunteers sign up at their convenience. There’s no set schedule so it’s whatever works for you!
If you’re interested in learning more about volunteering please email kelseym@homewardtrails.org.

We currently need foster homes for dogs, puppies, cats and kittens!  Fosters are one or our greatest resources because more foster homes=more animals we can save!

The Homeward Trails foster home program is a great way to help animals in need. By providing an animal a temporary home, the foster has given that animal another chance at life that he deseserves. Homeward Trails is always on the look out for people willing to open their hearts and their homes to animals in need.  Learn more today on ways you can help Homeward Trails care for animals in need.
