A small team is currently in Guanica, Puerto Rico, assisting the many dogs and cats that have been impacted by the recent earthquakes.  “Our hearts are breaking for our rescue volunteers, staff and partners in Guanica. Many have lost their homes and on top of that stress, are worried about the dogs and cats in the streets that they care for,” says Sue Bell, Homeward Trails Executive Director.  We are prepping to get 37 dogs off the island tomorrow, January 15. Our generous donors have covered the cost of this flight and land transport (and ANOTHER one on the 24th)….now we just need a bit more for the medical needs to get them on the plane.  Please consider making a donation to our GuaniCARES program and follow our team on Facebook for real time updates. Thank you!

Kids ages 8-13 are invited to join us for our energetic and educational summer camp – Camp Waggin’ Tails!

During our week long camp held at the Homeward Trails Adoption Center located in Fairfax Station, VA, kids will learn all about animal rescue, responsible pet ownership, positive dog training, hear from a variety of pet professionals, and work hands on with carefully selected adoptable dogs while engaging in fun games and projects designed to reinforce what we have learned.

During summer 2020 Camp Waggin’ Tails will run from 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (additional before and after camp hours may be available for an additional fee) Monday through Friday July 13-17.

Registration is $400 per child and includes two daily snacks, all supplies, a water bottle and a Camp Waggin’ Tails t-shirt.

Camps are limited to 16 children per session so register today before they fill up!  To ensure your child’s safety and that they receive the individual attention they deserve Camp Waggin’ Tails operates with a minimum of one adult for every four children.

Our biggest year end fundraising day is TODAY, December 3 and we need your help!  Giving Tuesday allows us to finish the year saying YES and go into 2020 saving lives..

We’ve had an incredibly busy year. To date, more than 2,500 animals have been rescued. Almost 40% of these have a special need that makes them candidates for euthanasia. But with your support, we are able to give them the medical care they need to get well and find that loving home they deserve.

Giving Tuesday is the most popular online fundraising day of the year because it urges people to think of gifts to charitable organizations after the official start of the holiday shopping season. Together hundreds of donations large and small add up to thousands of dollars for our animals!

Our goal is to raise $30,000 in 27 hours.

Will you help us reach our goal and make 2020 our biggest year for rescuing animals? With your help, we can make it happen! Give and share to help us save lives!

Meow Manor is our temporary housing facility for cats located in Falls Church. VA. Volunteers are needed to take care of the cats, feed them, scoop the litter and give them tons of love and attention. Volunteering is sooooo rewarding – you get to help out homeless kitties and get your kitty fix!
We have morning and evening shifts available seven days a week and volunteers sign up at their convenience. There’s no set schedule so it’s whatever works for you!
If you’re interested in learning more about volunteering please email meowmanor@homewardtrails.org.

We currently need foster homes for dogs, puppies, cats and kittens!  Fosters are one or our greatest resources because more foster homes=more animals we can save!

The Homeward Trails foster home program is a great way to help animals in need. By providing an animal a temporary home, the foster has given that animal another chance at life that he deseserves. Homeward Trails is always on the look out for people willing to open their hearts and their homes to animals in need.  Learn more today on ways you can help Homeward Trails care for animals in need.
