Donate Silent Auction Items
Do you have an item of gift card to donate?  Do you have connections to a business who would like to donate goods or services?  Are you willing to help solicit donations?

Donate Bingo Prizes
Do you have fun items or small gift cards to donate for bingo prizes?  Are you willing to buy a few prizes to donate?  We will need prizes for adults and children

Donate Food and Supplies
Can you help cover the cost of food by donating spaghetti, pasta sauce, salad dressing, Parmesan cheese, soda, water or grocery store, Costco, or party store gift cards? The more we can get donated the more money we can raise for the animals!

We are so excited to announce our two new youth programs kicking off in November! Children are the future of animal welfare and we have long been thinking of ways to get our youth more involved in Homeward Trails in a way that is safe, fun, and educational. We have run a very popular and successful summer camp for the last 7 years and want to be able to increase the number of youth served and spread their impact throughout the year.

Each program will run one Friday evening a month in person at the Homeward Trails Adoption Center located in Fairfax Station, VA. Due to current CDC and health department recommendations, all youth will be required to wear masks until further notice.

Pet Pals Parents Night Out

Children Ages 6-12

Cost: $40 per session

Next Session December 10

6:00 PM – 9:30 PM

8 spaces available

Parents and caregivers can enjoy a few hours to themselves while the kids have a great time hanging out at the Adoption Center.

Pet Pals Parents Night Out is mix of humane education and fun for our youngest animal lovers. Each monthly session will follow a theme and feature a short lesson, a project to help the animals, a craft to take home, a movie (maybe with a furry friend), pizza and drinks.

Homer’s Shelter Helpers

Youth ages 13-17

Cost: $25 per session

First Session November 19

6:00 PM – 8:30 PM

8 spaces available

Geared toward our middle and high school age animal advocates the Homer’s Shelter Helpers program is based around community service with a side of fun. We will start each session with dinner and a discussion topic to help youth learn more about understanding animals, shelter operations, and animal advocacy. We will then dive into volunteering around the shelter – sorting donations, cleaning, organizing supplies, making enrichment toys, or caring for our kitties. Youth can earn 2.5 community service hours per session.

We have re-opened our Adoption Center and Meow Palace by appointment only, and will have many wonderful dogs and cats waiting to meet you!

We are operating on an appointment-only basis with designated arrival times. Please sign up for a time slot using the signup link for either dogs or cats.

For the health and safety of everyone, we ask that you observe the following guidelines when visiting our Adoption Center and Meow Palace

  • Please arrive on time. Having specific arrival times will allow us to enforce social distancing in our small space.
  • Please limit your party to members of your immediate household only. Due to the small space in Meow Palace please limit your party to 3 people to visit cats. Due to increased COVID precautions, please do not bring out of town guests or visitors.
  • Masks or facial coverings are required for all visitors over two years of age. Visitors arriving without a mask will be asked to reschedule their appointments. We are unable to provide masks for visitors.
  • Please exercise good judgment – if you have symptoms of respiratory illness or a fever please stay home.
  • In order to accommodate the maximum number of visitors in the safest way possible, we are limiting dog meetings to 45 minutes and cat meetings to 15 minutes. We understand this may not be enough time for all visitors and are happy to schedule a follow-up appointment if requested.
  • Please bear with us as we adjust to a new way of doing things and work to provide you with the best adoption experience under the circumstances

We look forward to seeing you and thank you for your patience as we re-open!

For Dogs

Once you have signed up you will receive a link to a survey to help match you with dogs who might be a good fit for your family. You will be asked to select three dogs from the list of potential matches that you would like to meet.

*Please only sign up for one appointment spot per weekend. Additional sign ups will be canceled.

For Cats

Adopters interested in meeting cats should complete the adoption questionnaire ahead of time indicating the kind of cat that they’re looking for.

Once you sign up, you’ll be contacted to let you know which cats at Meow Palace would be a potential match. There will NOT be kittens at Meow Palace at this time. Please be prepared to take your new cat home if there’s a match by bringing a carrier.

All of our other cats and kittens are still available for adoption from their foster homes by completing the above adoption questionnaire.
