We have gleaned many awesome dogs from near and far, of all ages, sizes and breeds who need homes. And we need to make room in our fosters and at our Adoption Center to get ready for the busy summer season.

Help us move dogs into loving homes!!!!

ESTIMATED WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 35 lbs

Known with Dogs: Sammy absolutely adores other dogs. He's sociable and enjoys every moment spent playing and interacting with his furry companions.

Known with Cats: Sammy hasn't been tested with cats, but his friendly nature suggests he could potentially get along well with feline friends given proper introduction and training.

Known with Kids: Sammy loves people. He may initially be timid indoors. However, with patience and gentle encouragement, he warms up quickly.

Known Commands: Sammy is still learning basic commands, but he's eager to please and responds well to positive reinforcement training.

Known Housebreaking &/or Crating: Sammy may need some extra coaxing with certain tasks, such as going upstairs or being crated. However, with patience and positive reinforcement, he can learn to feel more secure in various situations.

Known Likes: Sammy loves people and thrives on companionship. He enjoys spending time outdoors with his human and canine friends, soaking up the sunshine and exploring new surroundings. Despite his initial timidity, Sammy's affectionate nature shines through once he feels comfortable.

Known Dislikes: None yet! Aside from stairs.

Short Bio: Meet Sammy, the timid yet lovable pup who's searching for his forever home! At just 2 years old, Sammy has already captured hearts with his gentle demeanor and friendly disposition towards people and dogs alike. Though he may initially seem shy indoors, with patience and encouragement, Sammy's true personality blossoms like a beautiful painting. He may remind you of the dog in the famous Wyeth painting with his soulful eyes and thoughtful demeanor. While he may need a bit of coaxing with certain tasks, Sammy's affection and loyalty make him a wonderful companion for anyone willing to give him the love and understanding he deserves. If you're ready to welcome this sweet soul into your home, Sammy can't wait to meet you!

Sammy has a playful style with other dog, and would make a great companion to another playful dog, or, a can be a solo dog giving his humans all his attention! Sammy has arrived quite shy and is learning to come out of his shell. He wags his tail when he sees people coming!

Come meet adoptable dogs every Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM - 4 PM at our Adoption Center located at 11116 Fairfax Station Rd. Fairfax Station, VA 22039. We can also schedule time to meet a specific dog at the Adoption Center during the week by appointment - just fill out the application and we will follow up with you!
