Hi! I'm Phoebe and I was rescued from a scary, crowded shelter in West Virginia! I enjoy long walks and hanging out with my family. I am not a fan of small dogs or cats (yuck!) and would like an adult, quiet home! A fenced in yard would be fabulous!! I'm a very very loyal, loving guardian of my family and would really like a home to call my own.

Polite, respectful and well-behaved in the home! Phoebe's disposition is sweet and gentle. She will melt your heart when she looks at you with her big, brown eyes. Peaceful and compliant while in her crate. She is an excellent companion for outdoor running, hiking and walking adventures, very fit and athletic and enjoys passing time by looking out windows.

Phoebe startles easily right now, but is getting less timid/on edge as each day passes in her foster home.

She was a hunter in a previous life, so please no small dogs, cats, or children.

Pheobe is a good balance between independent and enjoying spending time with her humans.

You can save animals like this one by becoming a foster! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out our information about fostering by visiting http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/dog-and-cat-foster-program/
