Forrest is a handsome and good natured 3 year old beagle. He’s 25 lbs. He was found as a stray and brought to a rural shelter. Forrest was very scared and shy when he found. But he has begun to blossom with a little TLC. Forrest needs a loving human to help him gain confidence – all he needs is a lot of love and a little patience.

Forrest is living in a foster home and housetrained and crate trained. In just a few days he has gone from a frightened dog to a boy who greets his foster with a wagging tail. He’s still a little scared when he sees new people on walks but he’s quickly learning that he’s safe and people are nice. He’s a very sweet boy who gets along with dogs.

Meet Rufio on Saturday, August 19 from 12-2 p.m. at:
Kriser’s Natural Pet
7505 Leesburg Pike
Falls Church, VA 22043

Rufio continues to be a loving and cuddly dog who likes to give lots of kisses. He is very high energy and will do best in a home with a backyard, and people who can walk him at least 3 -4 times a day. He will also require training, especially in leash walking, as he continues to pull when we walk him.

He has learned the words “WAIT” and “STAY” and is really a smart dog. He knows what we mean when we say it’s time to go for a walk, or time to go to bed. etc.

He won’t do well in a crate all day due to his need for frequent exercise and stimulation. He does understand when you ask him to go into his crate and does comply. with that command.

We had some neighbors over on July 4th and he barked incessantly at the young children, but absolutely no biting or jumping on them. He also barks when new people come into our house, but after about 3 or so minutes he calms down.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350. This fee INCLUDES spay/neuter and microchip. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered.
