A small team is currently in Guanica, Puerto Rico, assisting the many dogs and cats that have been impacted by the recent earthquakes. “Our hearts are breaking for our rescue volunteers, staff and partners in Guanica. Many have lost their homes and on top of that stress, are worried about the dogs and cats in the streets that they care for,” says Sue Bell, Homeward Trails Executive Director. We are prepping to get 37 dogs off the island tomorrow, January 15. Our generous donors have covered the cost of this flight and land transport (and ANOTHER one on the 24th)….now we just need a bit more for the medical needs to get them on the plane.
