Helping Hands Ministry Visits Kitty City!
Springfield United Methodist Church Helping Hands Ministry hosts 4th through 6th graders from all over Northern Virginia to participate in a two day mission event. Several of the children chose to help out at Homeward Trails Kitty City. They thought it would be a wonderful opportunity for them to learn about serving others while using their gifts and talents.
The children learned about animal rescue, the importance of spaying/neutering pets and what they could do in their own communities to help. They made catnip toys, cozy cat beds and beautiful note cards as well as helped assemble folders for adoptions. They enjoyed meeting all the Kitty City cats and gave them loads of love and attention (which was greatly appreciated!). They got an extra surprise — they were able to socialize a group of puppies, too!
